FOCUSED AREAS:  OBJECTIVES

 

CURRICULUM PLAN OBJECTIVES

 

Goal Statement:  To improve teaching and learning by 2010 by ensuring up-to-date curriculum, instruction, and assessment processes and procedures.

 

1)      To align Morton’s Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade curriculum with state GLE’s, benchmarks, frame works, etc…

2)      To conduct a curriculum review that focuses on reading, writing, math, science, and health and fitness.

3)      To develop a 7 year curriculum adoption cycle.

4)      To improve elective curriculum offerings from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

5)      To promote in-district staff development and planning time for curriculum and student learning.

 

FISCAL & RESOURCE PLAN OBJECTIVES

 

Goal Statement:  To develop a long-range financial and facility master plan and to pursue prudent fiscal management of district resources.

 

1)      To develop criteria to determine what/which financial needs have a greater priority (Develop a fiscal plan to prioritize our spending).

2)      To maintain facilities up keep and improvement.

3)      To reinstate loss of elective classes and program offerings.

4)      To build new bus garage, football/track stadium.

5)      To prioritize K-12 curriculum purchasing with the 7 year adoption cycle.

6)      To do away with pay-to-play fees and reinstate coaching stipends.

7)      To increase staff to meet students needs.

8)      To promote and develop a K-12 technology infrastructure.

 

STUDENT/PARENT/STAFF ACCOUNTABILITY PLAN OBJECTIVES

 

Goal Statement:  To build a positive partnership between staff, students, parents, and community in order to improve student learning.

 

1)      To improve communication.

2)      To build community support outreach.

3)      To create a bond between teachers, students, and parents.

4)      To improve student motivation.
